Donors Special Interest Group

The Australia and New Zealand Donors Special Interest Group (ANZ DSIG) is a joint initiative led by the ANZTCT in collaboration with Stem Cell Donors Australia to address current and emerging donor-related matters in the delivery of Australasian transplantation and cellular therapies (TCT)

The ANZ DSIG membership constitutes cross-disciplinary expertise and seeks to bring a broad range of perspectives from the TCT sector to strengthen donor care and transplantation outcomes across Australia and New Zealand. Members include donor registry specialists, clinicians, scientists and transplant coordinators.

The ANZ DSIG is tasked with providing guidance and recommendations on issues relating to donor health and donor issues and the safe application of related evidence-based advances in the TCT field:

  • Guiding the promotion of locally-applicable highest consensus standards in donor-related practices
  • Fostering evidence-based advocacy and policies that support optimal donor selection, health and welfare outcomes
  • Guiding best practice in the retention and research use of donor information, data or tissue samples
  • Developing educational and training opportunities for TCT professionals

The ANZ DSIG also seeks to promote the sharing of best practice knowledge and the strengthening of professional networks across the ANZ TCT sector.

If you are working in fields related to the Australasian TCT sector and interested in learning more about the activities convened by the ANZ DSIG, please contact ANZTCT at info@anztct.org.au or reach out to the DSIG Co-Chairs on the details below.
